Rammstein Live in Mexico City in cinemas, your guide to the release

“Live in Mexico City” opens in cinemas on Wednesday, November 4, 2026. We have already covered what has been known since the announcement in September, such as the cinema release and live album and the editions and prices. This guide is about going to see it. When and where does the film play, how do you find a cinema, how long is it and which songs are in it?

Release dates by country

• Worldwide from Wednesday, November 4, through Trafalgar Releasing1
• Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, South Tyrol and Luxembourg from November 4 through Filmwelt2
• France from Friday, November 63
• Japan on Thursday, November 5, and Wednesday, November 184

Filmwelt handles the German-speaking countries and also lists November 4 as the release date.5 France gets the film two days later. The cinema chain UGC lists it with a release date of November 6 and a running time of 1 hour 50 minutes.6

Japan is showing the film on two evenings only. The premiere is on November 5 at 7 pm local time in Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka, at Shinjuku Wald 9, Midland Square Cinema and T-Joy Umeda. On November 18 there is a nationwide screening in 22 cinemas across 21 cities. At the three premiere cinemas, fans may stand, cheer and headbang that night, and costumes are explicitly welcome. Everywhere else the audience stays seated. Shinjuku Wald 9 also plans an on-stage talk, though no band members are scheduled to appear. Advance tickets cost 3,600 yen.7

How to find a cinema

There is no fixed list of every cinema. Showtimes are on the official film site rammsteinmexico.live, where you can search by location and day. For Germany, Austria and Switzerland the site notes that more cinemas and screenings are being added over time.8 Filmwelt also runs its own cinema finder for the film.9

None of the distributors has said how long the film will stay in cinemas overall. The official site only speaks of a limited time.10 If you are looking for tickets, buy them directly from the cinema.

Running time, picture and sound

According to Filmwelt, the cinema version runs about 110 minutes. It is shown in 4K, with sound in 5.1, 7.1 or Dolby Atmos depending on the auditorium. In Germany the film is rated 12.11 Anyone who wants more will have to wait until November 20. The Blu-ray contains an extended version running 142 minutes.12

Director and location

The film was directed by Paul Dugdale. According to the official film site, he has won two Primetime Emmys and been nominated for a Grammy four times.13 It was shot over three sold-out nights at Foro Sol in Mexico City on October 1, 2 and 4, 2022. The stadium holds 65,000 people, and almost 200,000 fans attended across the three nights. The shows were the finale of the North American stadium tour.14

How many songs are there?

The official sources disagree here. On rammstein.de the band writes that 23 songs took fans through Rammstein’s entire career at the finale of the North American tour, and that the show runs over two hours.15 Trafalgar Releasing speaks of 20 songs in the film.16 Universal Music Japan also gives 20 songs in 110 minutes.17 Filmwelt, on the other hand, mentions 23 songs and gives a running time of 110 minutes in the same paragraph.18

The tracklist in the Rammstein shop helps sort this out. For the Blu-ray with the 142-minute version it lists 24 tracks, including an intro and the “DJ Set Deutschland”.19 Without the intro that makes 23, exactly the band’s number. Our reading is that 23 refers to the full concert and the long version, and 20 to the shorter cinema cut. Nobody has officially said which songs are missing from the cinema version.
