Rammstein Live in Mexico City heads to cinemas, album and tickets from 23 September
Few fans saw this one coming. On 15 September 2026, Rammstein officially announced their concert film “Live in Mexico City”, with almost no build-up and a dedicated website launched right away. The film opens in selected cinemas worldwide on Wednesday, 4 November 2026. Pre-orders for the accompanying live album open on 23 September, and tickets for the cinema screenings go on sale the same day.
A dedicated website for the film
Alongside the announcement, a standalone site went live at rammsteinmexico.live. It features the first trailer, a synopsis, a link to pre-order the album and a sign-up for updates. The site is built for cinemagoers in many countries and is set to list showtimes and tickets by country. The cinema release is handled by distributor Trafalgar Releasing, which has already brought several concert films to cinemas worldwide.
Three sold-out nights at Foro Sol
The film was shot on 1, 2 and 4 October 2022. As part of their stadium tour, Rammstein played three shows at Foro Sol in Mexico City, a stadium with a capacity of around 65,000. All three nights sold out, and all three concerts were recorded. The stadium tour ran for five years in total. According to the production, the band played 135 concerts in front of around six million people.

Directed by Paul Dugdale
Behind the camera was British director Paul Dugdale. He is a four-time Grammy nominee and a two-time Primetime Emmy winner. He has worked with Taylor Swift, Adele, Coldplay and The Rolling Stones, among others, and in Germany also with Helene Fischer and Die Toten Hosen.
Which songs are in the film
The film features 20 songs from across the band's career. Confirmed tracks include “Du Hast”, “Sonne” and “Ich Will”. The Mexico City finale was “Te Quiero Puta!”, and it is also part of the film. Viewers will also see the flames of up to 20 metres and the pyrotechnics of the stadium show. The film will be shown in 4K, with Dolby Atmos sound in cinemas equipped for it. According to the official site, it will only run for a limited time.
Runtime and album
According to the FSK listing, the cinema version runs around 148 minutes and is rated 12 and over in Germany. Because of the different frame rate, the home video version runs about 142 minutes. The live album “Live in Mexico City” can be pre-ordered from 23 September. Several physical editions are planned, though the band has not yet revealed every format. Everything will be available on 20 November 2026.
“Live in Mexico City” is Rammstein's fifth live release. The previous one was “Rammstein Paris” in 2017, directed by Jonas Åkerlund and filmed in 2012 at the Bercy Arena in Paris.
