Lifad.world and the Sehnsucht app run on five rented machines at Hetzner, plus video hosting and the domains. So far that comes out of my own pocket. You can chip in if you want to. Voluntary means voluntary. Everything here stays open, with a contribution or without.
Three cloud servers sit in Nuremberg, the dedicated storage machine in Helsinki, plus video hosting and the domains. The storage share is the biggest item, followed by the video cost.
All amounts are gross prices including VAT, exactly as they leave the account. The server costs come from the Hetzner invoice and each include the IPv4 address. The storage server also carries projects unrelated to lifad.world, so only half of that invoice is listed. The video cost moves with how many clips you upload. Working hours are not in there. The site and the app are built in spare time and that is how it stays. This is only about the invoices that arrive every month.

So it is clear from the start what you are getting into, and what you are not.
There is no paywall and there never will be. No content disappears behind a contribution, no feature gets switched off if you give nothing. Anyone who never donates sees exactly the same site as everyone else.
No ad network runs on lifad.world, there are no tracking ads and no paid placements. Nothing on this site is sold. What is occasionally marked as an advertisement is our own pointer to the Sehnsucht app and the community.
A contribution earns you no bonus content, no profile badge, no rank and no early access. It pays part of a bill, nothing more.
Payments run through Stripe. Card, Apple Pay or Klarna. A monthly amount can be stopped at any time through the management page further down, no notice period and no questions.
You type the amount yourself, anywhere between 1 € and 500 €. No account, no signup, nothing charged later.

Set up a monthly amountManagement runs on a page hosted by Stripe. You enter the mail address you paid with and get a link sent to you. Behind it you can change the amount, switch the payment method, look at past receipts and stop the contribution. You do not need an account with us for any of it.
Cancelling takes effect at the end of the month you already paid for. Nothing is charged on top.No. There is no bonus content, no ad free tier, no rank and no badge on your profile. Everything on lifad.world is the same for everyone. A donation pays part of a bill, nothing more.
No. Lifad.world is a fan project with no link to the band, the management or the label. The money goes purely into running this site and the app.
Anything left over stays put and covers the months where less comes in. Video costs swing a lot, the bill after a run of shows is much higher than in winter. On top of that the storage server fills up with every upload and will eventually need replacing with a bigger one. If there is a lasting surplus, it will be stated on this page.
No. There is no registered association or charity behind lifad.world, so there is no tax deductible receipt. Stripe sends a plain payment confirmation by mail.
Through the management page linked on this page. You enter the mail address you paid with, get a link sent to you and can stop the contribution there. It takes effect at the end of the month you already paid for and nothing is charged on top. If anything goes wrong, a short note through the contact form is enough.
Stripe handles the payment and receives your name, mail address and payment details in the process. No card data ever reaches our servers. What Stripe stores is covered in our privacy policy.
