Brynn Route grew up in Minnesota and developed a passion for the movement arts at an early age. She is a pole dancer, contortionist, and keyboardist who, in addition to pole dance, has extensive experience in gymnastics, dance, aerial acrobatics, and flexibility training. She currently lives in Los Angeles, where she works as a performer and instructor.
Some sources state that she draws on more than 18 years of combined experience in gymnastics, dance, and other acrobatic disciplines—indicating that she systematically developed her skills from a young age.
Since the early 2010s, Brynn Route has performed with various variety productions and show ensembles. In 2014, Tonya Kay’s Pinup Pole Show announced her as a new member, describing her as a contortionist, gymnast, and professional dancer who had already accumulated credits with Kanye West, Bassnectar, the television series Friday Night Lights, and the reality show Storage Wars.
As part of the Pinup Pole Show, she contributed her skills as an elegant pole artist to the retro burlesque ensemble.
In the Quentin Tarantino–inspired cabaret show “Tarantina” in Los Angeles, Route portrayed the character Nancy Callahan from Sin City. Burlesque Baby magazine described her as an “acrobatic pole sensation” who brought the film’s iconic strip-club scene to life on stage.
Brynn Route has also worked as a model and fitness influencer. Across various social media platforms, she shares yoga and flexibility tutorials and serves as a brand ambassador for the pole manufacturer X-Pole, where she is described in profiles as an X-Pole athlete.
The sculptor Anna Cicone has cited Route as a source of inspiration, praising her sensual, “spooky” aesthetic and expression.

A major step in Brynn Route’s career was her collaboration with the musician Kat Von D. For Von D’s debut album Love Made Me Do It and the subsequent tours, Von D assembled a band that included not only two synthesizer players but also a contortionist.
In several interviews, Von D stated that she had “an amazing contortionist named Brynn Route” in her band, describing Route as a pure athlete for whom songs were specifically conceived. Von D referred to Route as a “pure athlete” and jokingly compared her to Marilyn Munster.
During live performances, Brynn Route performs hypnotic pole choreographies, which backstage reports highlight as a visual centerpiece of the show; her acrobatic movements complement the dark synth-pop songs. In the music video “I Am Nothing”, Route dances on a pole covered in red glitter.
In October 2025, Brynn Route was confirmed as the final member of Till Lindemann’s live band. Media reports stated that on 27 October 2025—two days before the opening of the Meine Welt Tour—she was introduced as the band’s new keyboardist.
Her appointment was announced via an official social media post in which she was mentioned as a collaborator. On the tour’s opening night, it became clear that guitarist Danny Lohner had switched to guitar, Kristin Kaminski took over bass duties, and Brynn Route played keyboards.
In this role, Route brings her versatile skill set—ranging from classical piano training to her background in pole dance and flexibility training—into a new context, expanding Lindemann’s stage show with spectacular visual elements.
Brynn Route is regarded as a boundary-crosser between dance, acrobatics, and music. Her style combines the body awareness of a gymnast with the elegance of a dancer and the expressive flexibility of a contortionist.
In show productions, she often assumes the role of the visual focal point, complementing the musical performance. In her work with Kat Von D and Till Lindemann, her choreographed pole movements enhance the dramatic impact of the songs.
Media outlets have described her as a “pure athlete” and an “acrobatic pole sensation,” highlighting her exceptional physical control and stage presence.
